Rostocker Zoo & Darwineum

With the opening of the Darwineum, the zoo visitors are following Charles Darwin's footsteps. Experience fascinating insights into the world of gorillas and orang-utas.

 

The Molli

With the steam train "Molli" it goes several times a day on a narrow track with nostalgic tinkling from Kühlungsborn to Bad Doberan and back

Minster Bad Doberan

The minster in Bad Doberan is considered the most important medieval building in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the best example of the implementation of medieval design in brick and as a building of the highest technical and design perfection.

Bird Park Marlow:

Amber Museum Ribnitz Damgarten

Experience Europe's most beautiful amber exhibition The German Amber Museum Ribnitz-Damgarten opened in 2006 its newly designed and extended permanent exhibition "Amber - Gold of the North".

With its modern design and historic location, Ribnitz Monastery, the exhibition conveys numerous aspects of the natural and cultural history of Baltic amber in 24 chapters with 1,600 exhibits. Special attractions include unique amber inclusions and valuable amber works of art of the 16th and 17th centuries as well as artistic amber work of the present.

City and Bath Museum

Not far from the Doberaner Münsters, right next to the west gate of the former monastery, is the city and spa museum. The building, built by Gotthilf Ludwig Möckel in the Neo Gothic style from 1886 to 1888, impresses with its wealth of forms and is an eye-catcher for anyone passing by. In the years 2002/2003 the building was extensively renovated and restored. Inside, it presents itself again in original colors and partly idiosyncratic ornamentation.

The current exhibition shows the impressive history of Doberan-Heiligendamm as the first German seaside resort. Many paintings, decorative items and utensils, medical equipment, swimwear, etc. interesting objects from different developmental epochs give an insight into life in the 19th and 20th century.

Ride with the MS Baltic 

Seafaring from Kühlungsborn! All year long, the excursion boat "MS Baltica" starts from the pier Kühlungsborn to Warnemünde (half day tour with three hours of shore leave) and towards the Baltic Sea resort Rerik / Salzhaff - a Baltic Sea mini cruise past the mysterious island of Wustrow (without shore leave). Please note the summer and winter timetable.

Lighthouse Bastorf:

Wonderful panorama longed for? As you ascend Germany's highest lighthouse on the "Buk" elevation, a breathtaking panoramic view of the coastline awaits you! When the weather is clear you can even look west to the island of Fehmarn.

Hanseatic city Rostock

Even after almost 800 years of city history, the time-honored Hanseatic and University city of Rostock has lost none of its original charm. While strolling through the city center with its brick facades, numerous shops and cafés, you can watch the hustle and bustle in the streets.

The St. Peter's Church describes the place of founding the city and also offers a fantastic view of the old town, Warnow and city harbor from the tower. In the church of St. Mary you can admire a mysterious astronomical clock from the year 1472.  

Every year on the second weekend in August, the traditional Hanse Sail always attracts well over one million guests, sailing and sailing ships from all over the world.
